Hello,

 My name is

 Amanda Jens and I met you at the chapter meeting this 

 fall.  I am a German 1 teacher at Poway High School.  Unfortunately, 

 we find ourselves in a difficult situation at PHS.  This morning, my 

 dear colleague Marion von Ehrenstein-Smith was in a car accident.  

 She was taken to the hospital and will be unable to return to teaching 

 for an indeterminate amount of time.  I am sorry to have to inform you of 

 this sad

 news. 

 I look to you for some help.  PHS needs a  sub to teach Marion's 

 German classes.  She has 1st year - AP.  Do you know of anyone who 

 could help PHS out??!!  If you are interested, please e-mail me back

2. AATG Testing Info

 Guten Morgen, liebe DeutschlehrerInnen!

 Ich hoffe, Ihr hattet alle schoene Weihnachten und

 einen guten Rutsch ins Neue Jahr.

 Ausserdem hoffe ich, Ihr habt alle die AATG German

 Examination Tests und Kassetten bekommen! Die

 ausgefuellten Scantrons muessen spaetestens am 18.

 Januar nach New York abgeschickt werden! Falls es

 irgendwelche Probleme mit den Kassetten oder einer

 falschen Anzahl an Tests etc. gibt, bitte beim AATG in

 New York anrufen, die kuemmern sich sehr schnell

 darum.

 Viel Spass beim Testen!  (Ich benutze uebrigens die

 Hoertests spaeter als Orals-Response-Uebungen fuer die

 Vorbereitung auf den AP Test. Auch sonst halte ich sie

 fuer geeignete Listening Uebungen, weil die Texte

 meist recht ansprechend und authentisch sind.)
